Life Update

It's been a minute since I've posted here.

Anyway...

To date, 2022 has been pretty low key.  Less boring than 2021 for sure.  These are the highlights so.

Biggest Little Fur Con

My first convention attended since the start of the COVID TimeLine. Had fun, met people, and saw a lot of old friends. Got a little bit of time in latex though not in a particularly sexy way.  Not a lot of partying but it was good to finally see friends and meet people again.

BLFC Side Note: DroneStuff(TM)

I've been meaning to write about this.

A good friend asked me to speak about drone play/dronification at the kink panel.  Thought about for a but but decided to pass.  I thought back a pup play panel at MFF that murdered the nascent interest I had in that space. The vibe I got from that panel was that there was only one way to fit into the pup play community and if your interests were outside of that you just weren't welcome.

I do not want my opinions and feelings on--for lack of a better way of putting it--DroneStuff(TM) to be construed by anybody as any kind of exclusive definition for what Drone Play/Dronification is supposed to be.  I don't want my desires, wants, and expectations from drone play to become a model that anybody feels the need to conform to be "be a drone."

I don't want anybody to think that if they're not into DroneStuff(TM) the way that I'm into DroneStuff(TM) then they should GTFO.

That said, more and more people are finding their way into DroneStuff(TM); that's pretty cool. They're bringing their own ideas, desires, and expectations to it.  A rough community standard does seem to be emerging: some of it fits into my wheelhouse, some of it doesn't. It will be interesting to see it solidifies and how flexible/welcoming it turns out to be.

Work Trip

Straight out of BLFC I was at a multi-day work conference in Southern California.  Had a good time catching up with coworkers even.  The conference itself was a bit unstructured, kind of like a house party but not really a house party. I had to cut trip short to fly home and take care of a sick dog. I love that dog but he's kind of an overly dramatic butthead at times.

COVID-19

After getting home from the BLFC/Work Trip I tested positive for COVID-19. It sucked. I had to bail on a concert I was looking forward to.  It felt like a worse than usual case of the flu.  I recovered mostly alright but had some brain fog issues for a couple of months.

Things Checked Off My Kink List (So Far)

Straightjacket - A good friend stuffed me into a straightjacket not too long ago.  It was as restrictive, fun, and relaxing as I thought it would be.  I was in for a several hours during a pretty low-key evening. (rubber suit under leather straightjacket, very nice) Having thought about a lot, I know I enough it enough to buy my own straightjacket and accessories for my collection. I'm going to aim my purchase toward black canvas instead of leather or rubber for practical reasons. (That much leather is really not my jam and canvas should be a lot easier to clean and maintain, among other reasons.)

Keyholding - Played around with chastity and keyholding a bit this year, as a keyholder and somebody locked up by a keyholder.  It's been a fun and interesting low key power exchange so far. (Pun not intended)  I've used a couple different keyholding apps for self-initiated sessions and to keyhold for others.  I've asked a very good friend to be a keyholder for a bit of time and that was very interesint and fun.  All-in-all, very positive experiences.

There are some logistical issues to work out before asking anybody to do the keyholder thing again.  I need to make sure that whatever cage I'm locked in is comfortable enough; I need to be able to exercise or ride my motorcycle without completely crushing my nuts. I'll also have to negotiate terms for travel, etc, if I plan on doing long-termish session with friends as keyholders.

Breath Play - So far this is a near miss but I'm including it anyway.  I've been able to have conversations with some friends about this being a thing I want to try/experience and that's kind of a big step in and interesting direction. (Even if it's a little stalled at the moment.)

Missed Events

I did not attend either Dore Alley and Folsom Street Fair this year.  I won't expand into this too much now since this post has already gotten kind of lengthy but I will write my thoughts about both soonish.
